Formal Education.  Ms. Nguyen graduated from Guoc Gia Nghia Tu (“Die for Your Country”) boarding school for children orphaned by the war.  In addition to her academic curriculum she studied sewing, commercial art, cooking, and carpentry.  She obtained college degrees in banking and accounting from Regina Pacis in Saigon, South Viet Nam (as well as 3 years training in law).  In 1975 she had to leave Viet Name and come to the United States as a refugee.  She settled in Tallahassee and obtained an Associate of Arts Degree from Tallahassee Community College.  She was offered the opportunity to attend Florida State University, but chose to concentrate on her career and family instead. 

Work experience.  Upon arrival in Florida, Ms. Nguyen declined to accept welfare, and began work as a manual laborer, then worked in a sewing factory.  She promptly obtained a position as an accountant and bookkeeper for Nic’s Toggery, also doing clothing sales and managing the alterations department.  In 1979 she left Nic’s to open her own successful business, A Fabulous Fit, doing expert sewing and alterations, attracting many prominent customers, including the Florida Highway Patrol and the FSU Athletics Department, and at one point had 40 sewing employees under her direction.  

Ms. Nguyen joined the Mary Kay sales team and promptly advanced to become a sales director, supervising 120 sales agents. 

Ms. Nguyen also worked as a freelance commercial photographer for the Associated Press, and was offered a permanent position in her choice of country, but declined this offer to concentrate on raising her family. 

Ms. Nguyen bought her first home at age 22, and her love of real estate led her to become licensed as a mortgage broker in 2000, renewed I 2016, and a real estate agent in 2002 and broker in 2012.  Nga owns her own successful brokerage business, Property Finders Nguyen Realty in Tallahassee, Florida.  This is her primary occupation. 

Ms. Nguyen began work as a translator when asked by the FBI to translate for a case involving a Vietnamese criminal gang.  She currently translates professionally for the Leon County Schools, Hospitals and Courts. 

Ms. Nguyen is also a successful homemaker.  She has four adult children, all self supporting, and runs an AirBnB service in her home.  She loves volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity, cooking for the homeless shelter through her church, and raising money for charities.  Her hobbies include yoga, cooking, gardening, supporting FSU athletics and the performing arts, and helping persons in need (especially Vietnamese) with financial, relationship, and cultural adjustment problems.  She is trusted for her hard work, professionalism, commitment to excellence, and wise insight.  

Debbie has been a Realtor for over 16 years. She has also worked as a legal assistant for the past 30 years which has given her years of experience in assisting people in stressful situations. Buying or selling a home can come with stress due to unfamiliar and sometimes emotional processes. To ensure a successful experience, Debbie utilizes her talent for guiding people through the entire process of each real estate transaction, as well as her skill and experience in understanding and explaining contracts, negotiating, working with attorneys, and remaining calm under pressure. Real estate is a relationship-based business, and Debbie strives to create client relationships built on trust and confidence. Her ultimate goal: a business built entirely upon referrals from clients who are completely satisfied with the professional and caring service they received.
